Butterflies and Zinnias

We have zinnias growing near our mailbox; they are beloved of butterflies. These shots were taken September 23, the first day of Fall. Pentax K10d, 18-55 kit lens.

This may be a courtship "dance." Notice the upraised abdomen of the butterfly on the zinnia bloom. Two or three suitors would hover above their quarry.

Nice George I think I prefer the first nice colours and a perfect shape on the Butterfly against the imperfect zinnia head.

Think you may have some dust on your sensor though same mark on 1st and 3rd, can't quite see on the 2nd..

You're right about the dust, I need to clean the sensor. The K10d's sensor shake helps, but doesn't get everything.
