Critique Welcomed Cairns Morning

Taken on a pre-breakfast stroll in Cairns this week. With the direct sunlight the colours were washed out so B&W to the rescue!

Beautifully rescued Milan - the flare adds more than it detracts I think. Super stuff.

the white balance seems off. nice b&w conversion, good detail and very little haze for shooting into the sun, i would have expected to see the background blown out.

It did turn out better than expected. Some studious use of highlight, shadow and white sliders in LR and a B&W conversion in SilverEffex Pro 2. Cairns is in the tropics and it is winter at present so not as much humidity or haze at that time of the morning.
