A quick couple of shots from today - hiking up Oak Creek Canyon - Sedona AZ.

We had temps in the 60s - high ice clouds - perfect :p

I like that first one a lot, Chris. It has an infrared look about it, although I would expect the sky to be darker if it were infrared. Were you going for an infrared style on these? Anyway, very nice pics.

Thanks Brian - it's an IR style filter, with Tri-X 400 grain applied, and a silver paper tone added.

It really helped to bring out the grain in the rock, and the tree :)

The sky has quite a lot of high ice cloud in it, so hasn't gone as dark as you might expect.

Worth the hike on such a perfect day - 3 miles in, 3 miles out.

Tried the same hike in the summer, and it was way too hot!

I really like the treatment you used in the first photo. It accentuates the rock and separates the trees from the sky. I might have framed the image a little more to the right to put the largest tree further left and remove the parts of trees sticking in on the left. Not sure what is farther right though. Some more distracting elements might have been there.
