Calton Hill - from wiki:

Playfair was responsible for many of the monumental structures on the summit of the hill most notably the Scottish National Monument. This monument was intended to be another Parthenon and to commemorate Scottish Soldiers killed in the Napoleonic wars. Construction started in 1826 but work was stopped in 1829 when the building was only partially built due to lack of money. It has never been completed. For many years this failure to complete led to its being nicknamed "Scotland's Disgrace" but this name has waned given the time elapsed since the Napoleonic Wars and it is now accepted for what it is.

In the first one, I'm wondering if the guy on the right is a distraction. What do you think?

Rob,...why shoot Ektar if yer gonnae convert everything tae B&W?

Its not that I don't like them,...its just that I love Ektar, too.

Good point! Colour gives a different BW than BW film does. Not better, just different. I liked the colour, but it was a dull day, and while the subdued colours were interesting, I think the BW versions caught the shapes better. And I think I'm beginning to see better in BW than colour...I'll try to keep the colour film for when I know colour will be a significant feature.

I have one other colour film developed - Fuji Reala 100 - and will be processing that later this weekend. We shall see what we shall see...

Aside from the dodgy banding, I like Thing 2 very much - the treatment works well. And the shot of the doric columns is a nice blend of abstract and 'real' I think. Regards, colour converted to B&W and straight B&W I guess you need to play with the colour filters in Nik SilverFX and decide / understand what they do and then you can use the real ones with B&W film at the time of capture. Having said that, if a combined film / digital workflow suits then maybe it is better find the colour film that works best for you and sticking with that.

Loving Tree Runner - wonderful stuff
