Camera Servicing

Just a quick ask, if anyone has any recommendations for servicing companies, please. My go-to , the excellent BlCk on White in Bristol, is sadly no longer taking on any more repairs due to imminent retirement. Thanks in advance.

The main reason for my enquiry. Given to me by a friend, who8s Dad bought it new at the beginning of ww2. Unfortunately the shutter doesn't fire and the lens is grimy but seems to work in other regards (even the rangefinder). A lovely little camera that I hope to get fixed and use. He mentioned that it's been hidden away since the shutter failed back in 1969.

I'll second Cameratiks. I used to live in Edinburgh but now post cameras from the other end of the country to them. For film Pentaxes Asahi Photo in London are good (he finally fixed my LX which jammed for years and needed a new baseplate).

Thanks, Tim. I did try to contact them, but sadly got no reply (though I don't doubt their excellent track record). I did, however, ger a friendly response from Rob at VCG, who turned it round in just a couple of weeks and has done a great job with it.

People called Rob are great!

Looking forward to images from it…
Lol. It'll likely take a while though, unfortunately, as I've still got a number of rolls in the fridge from the summer still waiting to be developed and three other rolls on the go at present in different cameras..... aargh! Not enough hours in the day.. 🥴☺️

A couple of pics from the first roll through the camera, post-service, on long since expired Konica VX200. I was pleasantly surprised how well the colour balanced out without too much effort.
