Can we un-pin some of these ancient threads?

How about it Pete? Instead of having to always see these ancient threads that haven't been added to in years, can we have them un-pinned to the top (possibly they exist in other sub-forums as well). Just a thought...

That may be @Gianluca Drago, but not all of us browse the site the way you do. Sometimes I just open a sub-forum based on the fact that it's heading is bold. In any case, there's not been any activity on those threads in 10 years.

Well, having been a member for over ten years, I have to say I love seeing these old threads pop up. If you don’t like them, just ignore them.

I see your point Gary, although as a relative newcomer myself I'm inclined to defer to the old hands (eh Rob?).

However... for example the first 5 threads on the 'General' page haven't been touched in years, so it does seem a little - um - pointless? to have them pinned permanently.

But I'm not bothered either way personally.

but i check the top 4 photos of 2011 every day just to see if it's changed. how could you possibly want to remove that pin? it'd be like getting rid of the queen. wait, nm, they did that.

Good point. I rarely view the forum in that way, but some of the sticky threads do seem somewhat redundant now. I'll have a look at 'unsticking' some and have done the 'iphonography' one. Which ones are the most redundant?

They aren't really a big deal, it's just that I happen to have https://realphotographersforum.com/ set as my entry point. If there happens to be a new post in General, when I click there, I don't see anything new until I scroll. Oddly enough I'll most likely change my link to https://realphotographersforum.com/whats-new/posts/66941/ which is probably where everyone else lands upon arrival.
