Canon Canonete QL-17

My pinhole shots yesterday were all accidentally double-exposed. I'll have to re-do World Pinhole Photo Day next weekend. However, I did get developed a test roll from my newest camera, a Canon QL-17 rangefinder. I picked it up at a local antique shop. The guy was asking just about the right price for it, but its seals were severely eroded so I talked him off his $45 dollar perch and he sold it to me for $20. The shutter sounded good and was opening and closing on demand so I thought I'd take a chance.

These are from the first test roll--Rite Aid 400 ASA film. (Actually re-branded Fuji.)

I decided to shoot the test roll to prove the camera's ability to take pictures before I invested any time in re-sealing or installing a battery. I estimated the exposure settings on these. These are the straight scans with no PP tweaks of any kind.

Anyway, it takes pictures and, to my surprise, showed no sign of light leaks, which is what I fully expected.

Thanks, Pete. I never thought about it before, but now that you mention it, and now that I think about it, that pinkish cast seems typical of that Fuji film.

And yes, they are quite tolerant my family. (They don't even mind the occasional stranger sitting at a table or passing through.)

Great find Brian - looks like it's all working nicely - great camera
