Canon's Worst Ever Lens...???

Taken this morning with a hunk of plastic disguised as a 75-300mm zoom, loaned to me by a friend...

Not their best offering I reckon, but it captured the scene...just...

Give me my old Soviet lenses any day....

A fine image Douglas. Having this lens , unused since it came as a kit on a film camera, it can be stark, and physically clumsy , without those subtle transitions from better lenses.

Is that Craigievar, Dougie?

I'm not a big fan of the compression inherent in telephoto images especially when people use them for street photography. But clearly compression can add much to a fotie, and this is a good example of that. Excellent shot!

Thanks folks...I'd borrowed it to try a catch a couple of Lapwings that are nesting in the field in front of the castle (Pitfichie, Monymusk), but they didn't show.

When viewed at 100% on Lightroom, it just seems to lack any clarity or sharpness which I get from my 135 mm primes, and it didn't seem to cope with the contrasty light of the scene...
