Very nicely done Lesley. At first I thought a touch more detail in the shadows would have been nice but now I think I prefer it like this as the focus is much more on the canvas etc.

Many thanks for the comments. This may well be underexposed as I used a hand held light meter. Actually, I may just have winged it because this was a geniune candid. I don't know if it's me or the scanner - this Coolscan replacement was a very kind present from my husband, but I don't feel as though I have as much control. The scans come in a tad flat, but there is little to no detail in the shadows. I've come to the decision that if the shadows go dark, then I'm not going to fight them. I adore my B&W, but I'm thinking about diving into my colour slides very soon. Another new workflow to get my head around...
