It is a pre-WWII Leica film camera Aldous.

Sorry @Aldous Lau I should have said. It's a 1940 Leica IIIb with a 1938 5cm Summar lens. And for @Peter McCullough it was my beloved Ilford HP5. When it's processed properly it shows the most wonderful grain when scanned
