Another shot from my afternoon with Darren B - he managed to sweet talk us into a private tour of this little chapel in Carlsbad.

St. Michael's by-the-Sea

He's very persuasive when he wants to get into a building! :D

This is a Catholic church, Brian.

Had a fun afternoon hanging out with Chris today.

Nice shot, Chris! Let's see the interior of the Frey building!

That's interesting, Darren. I see no stations of the cross on the walls. That's why I thought Anglican/Episcopalian. Thanks, Darren.

It's just the original church which is now used a chapel, primarily for functions other than mass. The main church building is the one Chris caught me photographing from behind.

beautiful little chapel. i love the comp., it looks much more spacious than it probably is.

Thanks Beth - it actually wasn't a bad size for something like a wedding or baptism - the lady who gave us the guided tour said her daughter was married there.

Loads of character - it was a little like being inside an upside down ship with all that woodwork.

Here's St. Michael, ready to slay any demons in the vicinity

Nice and I like the patina on the wood. A demon slayer you say? Darren kept clear then did he! ;)

I did notice he stayed on the other side of the aisle at that point strangely enough! :D
