Charleston, South Carolina

I get out to this city occasionally for business and spent most of last week there. I bring my camera along when I can to take advantage of any down time (usually in the evenings) to look for things to photograph. Here are a few from this week.

That #1 shot is great - love the way the water draws you into the frame.

Love #2 as well - it's so American - would look great cross processed in PP I reckon. :D

That's a pretty funky water feature eh ;)
Did you put you hand in the jet? I would have done!

You certainly don't get places like that in the second shot here ... In fact is imagine most people here would think of a birdseye potato product if they saw the word waffle! ;)
Lovely shot though, it's so dark behind it... I really like how it makes it sit...

#1 is brilliant... I wonder what it would look like if you could look down on it from on high and leave out the buildings from the background...?

Lovely images, Darren. Charleston's French Quarter reminds me of New Orleans, but with a fresh scent in the air.

That's the finest Waffle House shot I've ever seen! (I bet there was another Waffle House on the other end of the same block, too! A Southern icon for sure, and a great place to pre-feed your hangover come 4 am!)

Thanks, guys! Of course I put my hand in the water, but not while my camera was sitting right next to it!

That Waffle House is the nicest-looking one I've ever seen. I loved the original ball lights and how it was raised off the ground. It looked like a temple of some kind.
