Christmas Presents

Darren Turner

XProPhotographer
Are you wanting or hoping for any photography related presents this Christmas??

Me i am hoping for a Fujifilm x10 camera :o :D ........maybe living in hope though & i have my suspicions, only time will tell

I'm suggested to Santa that I wanted a 7-14mm...... But I don't think that's coming some how. Lol. If he doesnt come with my presents in my wish list, then I won't believe in him ...... For ever!! :D :D

If I thought Santa had an Olympus 7-14mm about his person, he wouldn't be leaving here with it , one way or another...:D

I don't think Santa is bringing me any photo gear but that's ok. He might bring me some ultra lightweight backpacking gear that will make some of my photo trips a little easier.

So, what did we all get?

Just the one photography item for me, a Black Rapid RS-7 camera strap.

they are brilliant !! made life so much easier for me as it gave me the ability to climb with my camera strapped round my back

And A Westcott 43-inch Collapsible Umbrella Flash Kit (dont know what its does or what its for but i wanted one)
That should keep ye dry in the rain, Darren! ;)

Me,...? Got some film. Fuji "Natura" 1600ASA color print film all the way from Japan. Also a roll of Rollei "Redbird" film. (Also some very nice single malt whisky that I cannot leave unmentioned! :o)

Oh,...and I got a wee bit o cash that I think might be destined for a Fuji Instax 210. (No sure aboot that yet; Widnae mind having a 24mm lens for my Canon FD cameras.)

Nothing photography related from Santa - however I did get a small, indoor, remote control helicopter from my good lady wife - she knows I'm just a kid really.

So far, my exceptional piloting sills have lead to superficial damage to the Christmas Tree in the dining room, and about 10 secs of actual flight time :D

I also got the box set of remastered Pink Floyd - which resulted in everyone sitting and listing to 3 Floyd albums before and after dinner last night - accompanied by copious amounts of red wine :)

Stunningly good remastered sound (unlike some attempts a remastering).

The chances of my family listening to 3 PF albums on Christmas Day are zero...

Kids and grandkids had all left, so it was just the senior citizens left listening to the gramophone! :D

SWMBO likes PF, although doesn't know that much of it - and our guest for dinner is a big fan - so I was in good company.

We did Dark Side of the Moon, Momentary Lapse of Reason, then Wish You Were Here - glorious. :)

A guy I work with is a MASSIVE floyd fan and roger waters is his god :) he has all the live recording of pretty much every gig they have ever done

Snapped a pic of SWMBOs present today - got her her first bike in 30 years - a Tango coloured beach cruiser (3-speed)

No way I'll loose her on this machine - high visibility metallic orange :D

Took about an hour to assemble, then another hour to fit to the rider and strip off all the crappy decals, before giving it a good waxing.

First outing was a little wobbly - but you know what they say 'You never forget - it's just like riding a bike' :D :D :D

Wow chris!!!! That bike is the bomb!!! I would ride that thing with pride me.... :D :D love it!!!

But Chris!!! That bike hasn't got "A Basket, A Bell that Rings and things that make it look good"....and did you borrow it!!!...:p:D:D:D.

Spending the day listening to Floyd sounds good to me. But I spent it Playing GreenDay Rock Band and Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock which includes playing along to side one of my favourite album of all time "Rush 2112":):).

BTW anyone into the classic audio delights of Pink Floyd I can highly recommend seeing "The Australian Pink Floyd Show" if they play anywhere near you. I've seen them three times and my wife has bought me a ticket to their next show in Newcastle in February for Christmas ...
