Comet chasing in the desert

Friend and I drove out of town a bit to see the comet that is currently whizzing by. We left Phoenix and headed out on Old West Highway towards Tortilla Flats.

I dusted off my Lumix G9 and a couple lenses (Pana-Leica 100-400, Rockinon 12mmf2, Olympus 40-150 Pro) and did some very poorly done "astrophotography" - however I managed to get a shot of the comet so I am happy enough. Also happened to be a "super moon" and a fantastic sunset.

Some Prickly foliage :

Some layered mountains :

You should post your photos more frequently here, Paul. I am looking carefully at all five photos and they are all superb and excellently edited. My favourite are the "Prickly foliage" and the "Awesome sunset".

I really like the 'Mountain Layers' with the faint hint of clouds as it makes me think of some of my favorite silk screen prints. My roots are in the graphic arts but photography became dominant.
