Beautiful morning light in Santa Fe, and my Dad is lost in thought, looking at images on his digital camera.

Shot at f4 to give some separation from the background, silver toned in PP.

Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks! :D

Yeah that's an excellent portrait. His hands seem to be illuminated from underneath. It's a very very nice effect. Was there a light shining up, Chris?

The sun was shining through a french door, and bouncing off of a tile floor - providing the uplighting.

It was a lovely mix of illumination - couldn't resist taking a shot or two :)

awesome portrait chris, the best ones are like these candid style you have done here.

I like the lighting. Don't know if you planned it or it was just coincidence but the way your dad is illuminated really makes this a great photo.

Thanks Ralph - it wasn't planned, but when I saw the way the lighting looked, I quickly snapped off a couple of candids hoping I would capture it.

I was a nice shot in color, but it really took on a life of it's own with the B&W treatment.

Very nice Chris. Just right I'd say. And with an angel looking on.

Ah, you noticed - my wife picked up on that as well - I hadn't seen it, even through the PP - too busy messing with filters etc!

Cracking shot! as metioned, candid shots tend to be the best one from the bunch. :)

Great shot Chris, just love the lighting!

Lovely shot Chris.

We're off away this long weekend with family, and though not really anywhere to take good photos I may have a chance for some nice candids like this. I'll use yours as an inspiration and stick the 50mm on the front.
