I trained in the Psychiatric profession, many years back. I worked in psychotherapy of 6 schools, no less.
I'm telling you this so that you know that I know neurosis when I see it.........
I have it!!!
Since returning from the last gig, I can't shut the "buzz" off. I decided to "up my game" and once again, (as I did over Christmas), I began experimenting with glass subjects such as a decanter and wine, (no, I didn't drink any).
I pondered the resulting images, rejected them as being "boring" and started again. Same result.
So, I took the images to a friend.... "What do you think?" I asked.
"Fine, good......" He replied.
I took them to my wife, "what do you think?" "Nice" she said.
I banged my head on the desk. I reviewed images from Pbase, Flickr, and other sites, I post-processed all the images again....... I hated them. I was bored by their ordinary-ness.
I labelled myself "neurotic," and vowed to start again.
Is it just me? Do you struggle against yourself? What bugs you about your own photos? Anything?
