Connie - trying to get my film emulation down ...

I dont like digital photography now ... I have discovered that it drives me nuts ... I spend far to much time tinkering with photos ...
Today is a good example ... Ive been trying to get some images to look soft and film like ... I cant really share them as they are work related, but this is the same pp on some images of Connie ... What do we think?

Nice shots and I think you have achieved what you were after in the second. In the first, it almost works I think but maybe the highlights blow too quickly if you see what I mean.

I would have thought the second was film. Not sure about the first.

Thats interesting, as that sort of reflects my feelings ... Im finding highlights very hard to manage ... Im not sure there is a solution really?
Where digital blows highlights and is recovered, the grey that is left just doesnt look right ...
Has any one got any ideas how to get around that grey look in LR?

These do look film-esque, Hamish. I'm not sure I understand what Pete is refering to regarding the quickly blown highlightrs in the first, though.

I would of totally said this was film if you hadn't of said H,
It's really worked well on both shot IMO.
