A friend's workshop. He mainly does bespoke staircases and windows for older buildings.

I do love a workshop and this is a super series on this one, Dave. Dusty cobwebs - now that is familiar!

I met a chap that made historic staircases years ago when he delivered some materials to me when I lived in my previous house, and he came from down your way. Skinny chap, a few years older than us and with very long hair and, I'm pretty sure, a beard. He used to do odd delivery jobs for an architectural salvage yard in Jericho, Oxford: I'd bought some oak panelling that had been stripped out of one of the colleges as a source of material. I don't suppose...

Very good, Dave. Gives a real sense of being there.

Historic staircase, eh, Pete? I'm thinking of famous staircases in films: Nosferatu (the original and best, of course) and Great Expectations. Which one comes closest to yours? :)
