That's right Chris they were taken with the Canon 400 f5.6 L.
When I was first thinking of upgrading from my old Fuji 5600 zoom it was the reviews of this lens that made me choose Canon over the Nikon, Sony and Pentax cameras.
There are some Red kites near us in East Yorkshire as they where released here a few years ago and they nest in some woods nearby (it's a bit of a secret exactly where - I wont tell anyone )
I have seen them hunting over the fields a few times, always a great sight.
I think it's about time they produced and IS version of this lens because my handholding technique is a bit dodgy at times.
There is place about 25 miles away were there has been a reintroduction of Red Kites but getting shots of them are hit and miss but these shots were taken in Scotland. There is a Red Kite feeding station where there are over 50 Red Kites flying just above you and coming down for food.
A bit like shooting fish in a barrel really.
