Bird Rock, a prominent feature in the Dysynni Valley, is the only inland nesting site for cormorants in Europe. Known in Welsh as Craig yr Aderyn, the hill also holds the remains of Bronze and Iron Age fortifications on a lower peak. The rare chough also nests here, as well as ravens and birds of prey. From the summit are spectacular views of the valley and towards the Cader Idris range.
