Got rid of my Nikon gear for an X100 because I lost so many shots changing and fiddling with lenses and now I find this from my time in Cuba and wonder if I did the right thing. No way I could have got this with the x100, not without being arrested anyway!

Great timing Robert. No doubt just before they broke out into big friendly smiles. I wouldn't fret about the loss of the Nikon. I reckon I take over 3/4 of my shots at 35mm and I rarely miss the longer reach of an SLR / telephoto combination.

I wouldn't fret about the difference between the Nikon system and the X100 - you'd have taken a shot in a different way with a different comp

I've found the X100 very good for covert shooting from the hip for example

Yes I do love my x100, the only bit of Nikon kit I kept was my prized old AI 55mm Micro Nikkor. I toyed with the idea of getting a NEX 5n before settling on the Fuji. I just saw the current prices of that NEX and reckon it still might be a good bet with an adapter for the Nikkor and give me some good video potential. Before I know it I'll end up with another bag of kit to drag around so I'm trying to resist !
