Hi all,

Just received a set of Neutral Density SOFT grad filters today from Mr.Postman, I've never owned any filters until now, I picked one and experimented, used a 3 stop soft ND for the sky in this image;

Hi Peter.

Personally I wouldn't have used an ND filter for this kind of shot. I understand that it was to control the brightness of the sky but in doing so it looks like all but one of the Daffodil petals have suffered some movement during the exposure, or that the depth of field is too shallow.

What was the purpose of purchasing ND filters Peter?

See, i would see that as a bad thing in this image...
I can see what Peter was going for and i think he has pulled it of fairly successfully!

I see. I hadn't taken on board the 'experimental' wording Peter so forgive me. I've seen some wonderful images taken with these filters (I only use 8-11 stop ND's) so don't hold back. I wish I had the patience to trying out filters etc so kudos to you.
