Critique Welcomed Dance Rehearsal

At the far end of the pier there stands Ruby's Diner. They have a 1940s vibe. They also play '40's music on loudspeakers for the benefit of folks walking the pier. This couple were rehearsing to the music. I had the impression this wasn't their first time rehearsing outside Ruby's.

Holga 120N (Light Leaker) and Ilford XP2 cross processed in Rodinal.

It's funny. They look like they are doing a robot dance for two - both are very stiff. I'm used to your school dance group photos, Brian, where every movement seems to flow. The contrast in this image is that everyone who is NOT dancing seems to flow. Good shot!

That's a very good observation, Rob. In this image she is positioning him in a static sense, hence the apparent stiffness. Later I'll post another that I shot with the MacMerrill in which there is a sense of flow. Thanks Rob.

It is very seldom that there is a sense of flow in still photography unless a slow shutter is being used, as I see it. A film with sound here would have been nice, since you lure us into a feeling with your words.;)

Now that you mention it I wish I had thought to film the scene. I could have, since I had with me my DP1 MacMerrill and I believe to shoots video. Maybe next time. Thank you Ivar.
