Dark Spring

Rob, I really like the pattern created by the dried blades in the second shot. That's my fav from this good set.
 
I love those first two...brilliant shots.
I'm really going to have to get myself in gear this weekend and try some experimenting...

Paul, I was thinking how beautiful the garden was, but the closer I looked the more I saw the battle scars of the struggle for life. Made me think how the seasons are illusionary - it is really one long cycle of life and death, an unending battle.

Like I say, it was fun :D
 
Hamish, I used the automatic macro setting on the X100. In CS3 I used Levels to darken the background, and sometimes added a touch of Saturation. Little tweaks here and there made a big difference. And once or twice used the Clone tool to rid the background of the odd blemish.
 
It's like Day of the Triffids Rob! :)

Really like the strong composition and style - very graphic and very effective - very sinister in fact
