Thank you all. Not far off actually, Dave. These are the tunnels, built as shelters in WWII, under the 'old city' in Zagreb. They weren't used then, but they were in the 90's. After that they were sealed up and, more-or-less, forgotten about and only opened and restored a couple of years ago. They are now a pedestrian link-way across the city, but are not used that much it seems. They are not quite as gloomy as I've chosen to render them though.

I find that limiting horizons is a good idea around RPF (for reasons you more than anyone know all too well).
