what I would like to know is, would you turn this b/w or are the colours in the background sufficiently defocused?

I like the colors,...the muted tones in the foreground in particular. Yet, the bright background doesn't bother me,...perhaps because there is so much interest in the foreground. I'd like to see it in BW also, though.

I think my dodging skills need a lot of work! doesn't help that they are different distances away so the dof is so minimal, that you almost have to choose one or the other to look at.

But the composition still works with the barrier between and them looking at something out of frame. I think the colour one works better tough than the B&W and the dodging is less obvious too.
