Maybe a long shot ...
I've picked up a exa, first modle, version 6 with a later waist level finder
I'm going to use it for my cheap as chips (got it for a tenner and got some free film from jessops)
But I'm trying to work out how interchangeable the viewfinders are as I'd like to get a prism for it ...
Maybe a long shot, but I though Dan had said he had one?
If you have Dan, can you take a photo of it for me...
Of anyone else has one does the vf come off?

Naffing mate We all a bit slack on CAC, but now gotta get out there and shoot it......can't help on the exa question

... I know cheap as chips is over due finishing...
What ya gonnna do about it? ;)
Keep it open a while long please:o.

I've finally got a film for mine and have taken a couple of shots so far (probably be total rubbish) but have noticed a problem. The number gauge at the top of the camera (that tells you how many exposures
you've taken) is on 3 but I know I've taken a couple more than that. Do you think there will be a problem with the camera, the number dial or could I have put the film in wrong:(.
When I press the shutter button it clicks and it sounds like the film is rolling on fine but I can't really take the back off to check because it'll ruin the film.

Hope you can understand what I'm trying to say.. and sorry it's got nothing to do with your original post:o.

Might you have taken about 5? Counters usually start at -2 ... They don't say -2 but they start their as it is usually required to shoot and wind a few blanks as it were to make sure you get past the bit where the light will have got to the film
A roll of 36 is actually capable of more like 39 shots but a couple are usually lost
I almost always get 37 put of a roll, most people do!

It could also be that the counter is bust, or that it was set to a number in the 30's and wasn't reset when you loade the film

A few ways to tell if things are as they should be
1 when winding on there should be a bit of tention... If your not familiar with the camera this is often hard to determin!
2 when you wind the film on look at the thing that allows you to rewind, I the film is in correctly the rewind knob will rotate in the opposite direction to the way that you would wind it to rewind ...

What camera is it, they might be other things to look out for specific to camera

Sorry for the delay Hamish,
Haven't looked at this thread till now.

I have an Edixa Prismat........
I have taken the prism out of it before to give it a clean in the past.

It could be only about five shots taken so far, so probably what you say at the beginning. I'll keep an eye on the counter and see if it goes up as I take more shots with it.

As for the winding on bit and type of camera, it's just a plastic point and shoot type camera and it automatically winds the film on when you take a shot.
