I never realized that the viewfinder in the X100 and X Pro could show the square in the optical viewfinder until yesterday. I am going to only shoot the square for awhile (until I get bored with it). I knew you could see the square in the EVF. I accidentally pressed the little lever on the front of the camera and WOW...there was the square in the OVF. I am very happy now. Funny how it takes so little....

Highly recommended CD:

From Louis Malle's Lift to the Scaffold. Amazing!!! I have been playing it all weekend.

Dammit! It is always dangerous opening your threads, Steve. Now I've got to order another album!

But the compensation is a superb set of images. Not only square but brilliant. Love the fenced in signs and the sign on the fence. And that truck on the overpass seems somehow iconic. And the clouds are simply beautiful.

Strong sentiments within the images Steve. Always good to find a new feature on something that has gone un noticed for a time. Makes for a new camera almost,

Thanks Pete!! I am going to try and stick to the square for a few weeks to see if it works or not. You know if I had read the manual I might have "discovered" this feature sooner....

I would also like to extend a heartfelt thanks from all of us here in the US of A to our good friends on other side of the Atlantic for loaning out Nigel to assist in our raging dumpster fire of an election this year......:)

wait - people actually read their camera manuals? i thought the camera manual was to be used as toilet paper when you're out hiking. came in a convenient use bound package, even wrapped in plastic to cellophane it clean and dry until use.

the truck on the spaghetti noodle ramps is my favorite of the bunch. reminds me of driving into DC where you look around and you're stopped on level 3 of 10 on the ramps.
