This is probably the last of the DIYCam 'close-ups' for now. I have come to the conclusion that while is was quite interesting using the camera for these types of image, it really is suited better to portraiture and figure studies and the next shots will be some more painted with light type of shots I think (http://www.realphotographersforum.com/nudes-glamour/4891-painted-light.html).
This is a dried head of a hydrangea saved from a bouquet. This time I used 2 lights, and the setup is shown below. The image is OK but, like the others, is just OK I think. I did like the subject though and so I shot it again with the same setup but with the Hasselblad / 120mm Macro Planar / PhaseOne P20 combination (ISO 50, 1/2s at f/16). I actually wanted the colour version but produced a B&W in the same style as the DIYCam version for comparison.
