Ely Stained Glass

Lesley Jones

Otherwise know as Zooey
I'd driven back up to to the Animal Health Trust in Newmarket to give a framed print of our Purdy cat to her neurosurgeon. She made the mistake of falling in love with her and she is everybody's favourite patient. I seem to remember that was my last ever Cibachrome - she was worth it!

Afterwards I took a detour to the cathedral in Ely. There's nothing much to photographing stained glass, but I loved the unusual colours in this one :)

Lovely colors - very Velvia like in fact

How did you correct for any perspective distortion Lesley?

Nice that :)

Ely is one of my favourite Cathedrals to photograph.

I used the lens correction filter in CS5. Mind you - it's far better now I'm correcting for my specific lens in RAW first. I downloaded something a few weeks ago. You don't notice on the landscape type shots, but it was pretty scary how the lens was distorting an old wall. It now removes the fringing, vignetting and any barrel or pincushion effects. After that I only had the normal perspective adjustment due to looking up. I'm not sure it's 100% correct here, but I wasn't willing to lose any more of the image :)
