Just for Show Every year,

since 1814 when Norway again got back their independance. On that particular day, the 17th of May, the whole of Norway's population take part in the greatest treasured and appreciated holiday in this country. Unique to Norway, all schools children march through the streets where they live with bands, flags waved in the air and when the children are allowed to eat as much ice cream as they are able too. The greatest freedom day of all.
So I thought I'd show you a little glimpse of that, made able by my Olé 10 and it's kit lens. Hope you'll enjoy it.
It all starts by hoisting up the flags in the mornings.
just hoisted the flags.jpg
and then everyone goes to see the parade down in town.
pupils from Brevik school are marching..jpg
where all school children take part, and are shouting hurray, hurray....

Where the adults form the front, ( maybe it should be the other way around?)
here they come, the folks of Brevik.jpg
All dressed up in national costumes and nice outfits.

One of many speeches of that day.
the day's one of many speeches..jpg
and they all listen and sing the national anthem.
and they all listen, well almost everyone....jpg
well almost everyone...

But some got to work, even on that day!
some has to work..jpg

Thank you Pete. One doesn't find such a celebration anywhere else in this world and an Oly with a pancake lens documented it all. The little kitlens has proven it's quality it seems.

Good story Ivar. Our celebrations for the village take place soon. Sadly it is mostly about drinking as much as one can.
Well I know that neither you nor I would take part in that Julian, and thank you. Not to brag / boast, but the two Olys suits me fine these days and take care of my photography also in humid weather. The 10 - 50mm can be put to good use. Sadly though, my Pentax is more relaxed up on the shelf.

Glad to hear the Oly's are in good care. I have an itch and want another camera. The Leica Q I fancy for the 28mm lens, but is it really worth all that dosh. The fuji also has attractions. The Oly 5 mark 2 is an idea but would only be replicating what I have and therefore not be such fun as a completely new toy. My saner moments I tell myself I have enough and be happy. I have also of late put down the Merllins and been using the Oly and Canon 5D

I understand your itch, but honestly your sane self is working in the right direction. I find the Olys more than good enough for my photography albeit I have as you a dslr that is being used at rare occasions now. The olys are good enought for exhibitions sizes, so what more can I ask for? Being light, neat and nice as well as quality more than ample. The oly omd em 10 with a certain grip I have is actually sublime and would be I think, perfect for you. Have a look at it. Very much the same as omd em1. Cheers.

Yes I missed out on the free grip for the EM-5 they were offering too entice . I do occasionally look to see if there is a second hand one, but the prices are quite high. The Xpro 1 here at the moment is as cheap as our fish and chips here, with two lenses thrown in. It is tempting. The x100s is also very tempting and would get it if I felt the image quality was good enough. I've been spoilt with the Merlins .
At the moment I go to bed sane, then wake up somewhat insane and look again.Maybe the answer is not too sleep :D
