Excuse the mess!

Sorry about how higgledy-piggledy everything is looking at the moment, we are having a bit of a reshuffle ...
It would probably be new professional to do it on a staging version ... But we thought you lot wouldn't mind?!

So yeah, there might be a few subtle, and a few less subtle things happening over the next few days, but don't worry, nothing should change in any way that will effect curent useability etc

What does everyone think of the massive chunk of ads at the bottom of the site ...
Personally I think it's pig ugly, but we figured if we chuck it all down there, although it will likely not earn very much at least it's out of the way...
It will all disappear if I can make the place earn it's keep in better ways ... It's a bit of a chicken and egg situation. Need money to spend time on it, need time to spend on it to make it earn a bit of cash ...
Not ideal, but needs must or now ...

The mess i can cope with, the ads the forum may need, but i feel they lower the tone immensely.........!!

I use a little tweak in Google chrome that hides these ads from me personally on any website i visit.

Is there really no other way of paying for the forum?? small donations i am sure most wouldn't mind paying to keep RPF ad free................just a thought.......!!

How about adding a poll to get feed back on what member anonymously think of ads on RPF......??

I only noticed when the advert for Portrait Professional caught my eye (do people really want to do that to an image?!!).

They don't worry me too much but they do look ugly and lower the tone. I would certainly be keen to find out what you would need to run a subscription option (just voluntary, or maybe offering gallery space as per APUG). Maybe a poll would be useful. I know you say it is mostly time, but do you know what that would equate to in terms of cost?

So, another day on it today and we think we have the contents of the home page (latest, articles etc) in the bag ...
What do you think to the new layout?

looks the Muts Nuts / Bang Tidy........

No seriously it looks really smart, tidy & easy to read & understand the best it has done to date, great work Hamish.
