thanks keith. it was a last minute decision after work when i saw the misty so i wasn't prepared. no tripod, no coat, wearing a long sleeve tshirt. i started out at f/4 and that wasn't working for me. iso was 2000, shutter speed was 1/60s with a 35mm lens. i didn't want to increase the iso and i couldn't decrease the shutter speed and get a sharp handheld shot. so i decreased the aperture and tried to guess what the hyperfocal distance was. probably should have looked that up on the smart phone app, but couldn't be bothered.
thanks steve. it's either 30 degrees or 50 degrees here, nothing in between. we don't get snow often, when we do it's a lot. people around here can't drive in snow. i like visiting florida and seeing the natives in winter coats at 70 degrees.
thanks lesley, the driveway is some kind of dark gravel, it was a little shiny from being wet.Stunning Beth! I agree that the almost monochrome foreground is really unusual. The mist is a lovely touch and the vanishing point sits pretty much on the thirds (not that I pay much attention to rules)
you and me both. this is heading in the right direction and only a few minutes from work, but unless i turn around and head back to the expressway it adds about a half hour on to the ride time without stopping anywhere for photos.
