Would anyone disagree if I suggested that the dark area of the monkey was adjusted to bring out just a hint of texture?

I'm always open to ideas, Paul. In fact, I had already done that. I took it a bit further, but it started looking false, so stepped back a bit. I agree it is a little on the dark side, but I think there is enough texture there. I used the Fuji XS-1, but might have got more subtlety with the X100. Also, this is just a jpeg. I don't have a raw file for this one, as that is something you have to set up on the XS-1, and I neglected to do it. That's a shame, as I'm sure this is an instance where raw would really come into its own.
