First Shots with Pentax K1000

That is lovely, Rob. I love the dappled sunlight on the sandstone and the red and green shop fronts as contrast, too. What film?

Checked out the Flickr set. Very nice set. I like "Remains" and "Resting Pipe" a lot.

That shot of the Grassmarket with the "Petit Paris" restaurant,...did that used to be a Carribean place or Mexican or something? Maybe I'm thinking of someplace else.

On "Entering the Grassmarket"...too bad about the van behind the Bentley. The Bentley by itself would have made it a really cool shot. (Maybe you could PP that van oot, Rob,...assuming you agree wi' me of course.)

Overall,...very nice set. Did you enjoy your film experience?

I think the film was the cheapest in the shop - Fujifilm C200. I was really impressed with the colour. However, I did another lot today, and they look as dull as dishwater. Dull day today, though.

The wedding car - I had no idea it was there. Quite a surprise when I got the print. Shame the white van is behind it.

The restaurants change every month in the Grassmarket...

I don't know how to take the white van oot. Any advice? I have Lightroom 4 beta version for a couple of weeks before they ask for money...

Yes, I really enjoyed myself. I've been looking for a hobby to take me away from obsessing about music. Tried bread making - hated every millisecond of it. Photography seems perfect for me. Sometimes mistakes can look great, and sometimes something you spend time and money on can look crap. Very similar to music!

I widnae know how to take the white van oot either, since I don't do any post-processing and therefore don't know how. But I've seen enough PP examples to know its possible.
