I like it better wi' the dash of color from the fliegenpapier. Once again you have lifted the banal to a high level. Very nice indeed, Pete.

Sieht so aus, Dass die fliege papier hatte keine aktion heutzutage! Lol

Never the less, a great shot again pete!

sometimes i look at this sort of thing and really try to think why in the world i would like it...
I dont have an answer... its "mood" and composition ... which often is enough to make a photo of not much at all inspire something in a person ...
Ive had a few whiskeys ... but thats what i think!

see my other thread about the imagined film ... i think that is what it is ... photos of little details and little else have a wonderful effect on the imagination... I think I am drawn to take shots like this as I like what seeing them inspires in me ... There is little concept, its been "done" a million times but it contiues to work for how different every shot lie this is ...
I suppose it just goes to highlight how different everything is ... we get so used to walking around not looking at things its refreshing to just look at something that we would often walk past ...
I guess it is also what makes a photographer ... spotting simple things ... that are plaseing to look at ...
Im really rambling tonight ... excuse me :)

I did indeed and need to search out that film too.

There are several types of story I think in these 'found' compositions. This one was produced through no thought by the person placing the objects where they were. The cable ot the light switch was just a handy place to tuck a few objects relevant to the things nearby (why the xmas, dried orange though?) and the cable on the ceiling was a good place to hang the fly paper to catch pests in the storeroom. It just needed someone to come along and record it in such a manner as to reveal the pattern that could be seen. Then there are the others where objects are gathered deliberately to create a composition, albeit one that changes at least weekly (eg http://www.realphotographersforum.com/abstract-still-life/2412-upon-plinth.html). The arrangement is deliberate and artistic and the photograph is just a record of it. And this just becomes an acknowledgement of the aesthetics of it in my view. My preference is for the former though and the story hidden behind it. The dried orange dropped on the way from the storeroom and picked up a week later and just hung on the cable. No one came for Xmas and the decorations had been a waste of effort and in any case it was justa token gesture and so the orange sat there unnoticed...

For me, it's bringing things which would pas you by in a second, into a frame that allows you to study them in detail.

It's then you realize that there are little scenes like this all around you, every day - you just need to know how to look for them, and then capture them.

That's Pete's skill IMHO
