Mr.Postman brought me a recent ebay purchase this morning, a second-hand Russian made Helios 44/2 (58mm) manual lens, also got a M42 adaptor mount to use on my Canon 5D MkI (£2.79).


I attached the Helios lens to a 12mm extension tube and shot this image @ f/16

I like it.

That is nice - the tones are almost creamy if you see what I mean.

As soon as I saw the image I thought, "Man, that's nice!"

Then I scroll down and see that Pete beat me to it!
But I'll stand by my first thought. Nice and crisp with excellent whites and colors.

Thanks for the comments, the second hand Helios 44/2 lens cost me £27, bargain!

Might get my Helios lens out of the Zenit photosniper kit and have a play with it this weekend
