I haven't been on RPF for a couple of days and found I have about 200 posts to catch up on, keep up the good work everyone.
Anyway, I was sitting in the dining room yesterday playing Burnout on the X-Box 360 when I heard a bang on the window. When I looked there was a Sparrowhawk flat out on the ground so I went out and picked it up the see if it was dead. Luckily it was only stunned so while I had hold of it I grabbed my camera, which thankfully still had the macro lens on, and held the bird at arms length and took a couple of one handed portrait shots. I then put the Sparrowhawk onto the fence hoping to get a full body shot but as I released my hand it spread its wings and flew off.
A couple of minutes later I noticed there was also a young Goldfinch lying on the chair next to where the Sparrowhawk was. That too was stunned but still alive, so I held it in my open hand for a minute then it also flew off.
The goldfinch must have chased by the Sparrowhawk and hit the window first while trying to escape and the Sparrowhawk must have been so close to grabbing the Goldfinch that it too crashed into the window too. Thankfully both birds flew off and seemed to be fine and I grabbed a couple of Portraits.
