Had a chance to play, all be it quite briefly, with the x10
I thought I would share my thoughts with the forum.
The first thing that struck me was its size, I suppose those more familiar with the likes of the canon g12/nikon p7100 et al would probably have expected it to feel the size it does... But i'm coming from the perspective of the x100, it did feel surprisingly small!
It also doesn't handle as nicely as the x100, but then, that really is to be expected from its smaller size!
It does however feel nice and solid, and the collapsible lens/on/off control, to me at least, makes a lot of sense!
No fiddling with a on off button, just put the camera to your eye and zoom!
Which brings me to the viewfinder...
Once again, coming from the POV of the x100, it is very odd not to have any sort of information displayed!
That said, I'm not sure this would be an issue for the consumer market I think it is targeted at!
The screen on the back was very familiar to me, with a menu system very similar to that of the x100.
It also seemed pretty good quality.
Ill come back to this later in the week when I get a chance to have another play ... for now here are a couple of shots with links for downloading full size versions!
These are just snaps, taken with the camera on aperture priority with the settings as they were fresh out of the box!
ISO200 7.1mm f2.8 1/1100sec

ISO200 28.4mm f2.8 1/750sec

Edit...
I thought I might push the camera to sensible limits today
The X10 has optical image stabilisation so I thought I would combine a test of that with a test of low light capability
Set the camera to f/11 iso 3200 in evening light, the shutter speed dropped to 1/20th this was the result

I have also uploaded a raw file of this image in case anyone wants to have a really close look
