Critique Welcomed Furry tongue

SWMBO has a bit of a green thumb, especially when it comes to succulents.

This one has been threatening to bloom for a few weeks now - and yesterday's sunshine finally brought it out.

As with many succulents, it's suitably weird...

Looks like a tongue with a bad hair problem to me

I'll defer to the experts on the forum as to the plant's real name?

It's a stapeliad and it smells of rotten flesh. The idea is to attract blow flies, which it does exceedingly well. I have some at work...
