Gingerbread House Architecture

My wife and I visited a local history museum this afternoon to view an exhibit of gingerbread houses (we make gingerbread houses every Christmas time). I suspect her purpose was to get ideas although based on what we saw, I suspect that we'll just continue to make a rectangular box with a peaked roof that gets decorated with lots of candy.
