Good Haul

I returned to the charity shop (Oxfam) where I found the Paul Strand book the other day. This time I bagged a small overview of Edward Weston, plus four books by Ansel Adams - in mint condition, at £4 each - The Camera, The Negative, The Print, and Polaroid Land Photography.

The Adams books are likely to be beyond my meagre brain, but it is still inspirational to have them around. The Weston images are mixed, but I do like the fruit ones...

i do like edinburgh for finds like that .... great find with the ansel adams books

Nice collection at a great price Rob. Weston...Adams...Strand are all somewhat accomplished. ;)
When we downsized from a house with a library we put most of our books in storage...and I keep saying we "can't" buy anymore. Boston is a crazy expensive place to live at $40+ a square foot...so we try...but the longer we are away from them...the harder it gets.

Cheers, Glenn. We gave a pile of books to this charity shop last week, in order to save space. Didn't take me long to start filling up that space again...

Now that's a canny purchase right there - who'd have thought a Scotsman.... oh never mind! :D :D

I like the Adam's books - they seem to be well explained, and even though I went in assuming it was all going to be horribly complex, I came out feeling that I finally had a grasp of it all, and should have read them decades ago

You'll be pleasantly surprised I think :)
