Hi,

I'm currently getting back into taking pictures after having to give other things priority for a while (eg family...).
I'm looking for opportunities to share what I do rather than be the only one admiring my efforts.

Take a look at my Flickr page for some samples of some recent work
http://http://www.flickr.com/photos/avj57/

but here's one that seems to be popular at the moment...
image229007.jpg

This is one of the cottages in Blaise Hamlet in Bristol, post-processed using Photoshop and Topaz filters.

As for kit:
Olympus e-410, (a four-thirds format so double the focal lengths of the follwing lenses to get 35mm equivalents)
40-150mm, 14-42mm, 25mm, 35mm macro

Cheers

Adrian

Hi Adrian,...welcome. I like that image. Dumb question I suppose (but not for the first time in my life): It's HDR isn't it?

By the way,...Google Chrome couldn't find your Flickr stream when I clicked on the link above.

Again,...welcome.

Brian,

Actually, no it isn't HDR.
The original RAW was converted to Jpeg and cropped in Photoshop.
I then replaced the sky with something more interesting.
I then used Topaz filters to convert to B&W then gradually painted in the colours leaving the sky and foliage a little washed out and used the full colur for the flowers.

Adrian - welcome, and welcome back to photography! :)

You've found the perfect place for sharing photos and getting inspiration from others.

Nice looking image you created there - love Topaz myself, really opens the door to creative post processing

Hi Adrian

Welcome to the forum!

We have some instructions here for posting images from flickr for best results ...
the way you have done it shows a slightly blury image, whereas in flickr it is nice and sharp
share the way the instructions say and you should get nice and share images on the forum!

You know, this is just on the right side of good use of HDR for me ... if that is indeed the process method used?

Some lovely shots on flickr!

We have a couple of members who shoot 4/3rds ... i know one, Dan, will be very happy to have another Oly shooter on board :)

Welcome Adrian. I've never used Topaz but you photo makes me want to give it a look. Nice work there.
