Yet another Worcesterite!! Pretty much starting out (don't have a camera yet) so the tips page will come in very handy, and I will be pestering you all no doubt!
I live and work in Worcester and am a keen phonetographer, taking opportunistic photographs on my iPhone and using the various editing apps with great results. Looking forward to the challenges of a real camera now!

Welcome Tom - seems to be a hot bed of photography in the Worcester area! :)

hehe you knows it makes sense

i really hope people round these parts have got to know me well enough to know that that is a joke

Hi Tom,

I've just spotted the rest of the 18 shots you popped in your gallery taken with the D7000 and I must congratulate you as there are some great shots in there. I'm really looking forward to seeing more and it makes me feel even more guilty that I haven't been shooting so much over the last few weeks and, when I have, not getting them processed!!

thank you pete that means alot. yeah im happy with some of them others i wanted more out of them but am only coming to grips with lightroom and im yet to venture in to photo shop! just out of interest what ones did you like? so i can get an idea of what im doing right ha ha.

hi tom, welcome your like me in the same boat aswell yourself but have a camera only a small one i have olympus it'l do for now i dont know if anyone else can tell me this but does a good digital camera like the one i have take good macro? i reckon it does from the close ups ive taken but some tips and advise would be great.

Hey again. Yeah I have got a big boys dslr now (nikon d7000) and some times I wish for the simplicity of the Iphone.....but I think I'm picking it all up pretty quickly I saved for almost a year for mine meanwhile like yourself using a smaller camera to build what i feel essential skills like composition and getting the "eye" for a good snap. as far as I'm aware ( I don't know much about macro) for really good close ups you can buy specific macro lenses, all depending on if you have interchangeable lends.think your Olympus will take good macro but if you really wanted to get into it and count the hairs on a spiders moustach I would seriously concider investing in a dslr with a good macro lens The only stuff I have picked up is from the specialist & macro photography forums on here have a look some amazing photos check out alistair Campbells post "extreme macro" stunning!! The only tip I can really give you is when I used to take pics on my IPhone holding a strong magnifying glass over a subject and taking the shot through that used to work a treat!!!
