Hello....

Brandon Weiss

New Member
Let me start off by saying hello, my name is Brandon! I live in the US.

I must say that being a brand new member, im quite surprised after all the good i heard about this forum, of the experience I am having right now.

Posted a thread to sell my Fujica Mini, and I'll admit the way I worded it may have been Misconceiving, BUT NOT INTENTIONALLY.

I am not a dishonest person or I would not be here typing this.

I PM'ed both Dan and Pete because rather than someone telling me "this is what you can and cant do" Conclusions were jumped to and my link blocked to ebay and thread closed....however not all ebay links in the post were blocked 0.o

I had no prior understanding of this forum, just what I had heard and for my first day on here, and one mess up to be told "If those are your intentions take your business elsewhere"......

I love these kinds of forums this experience has just left a little funky taste in my mouth...I'm hoping this could be a one time issue!

I'm sorry, I am 25 years old and love nothing more than filming, and photography! I have been just about everywhere in Florida to take pictures. (nothing like having the opportunity to snap a few shots of a 12 foot prehistoric alligator 5 feet away :D)

Welcome to the forum Brandon!!

As mentioned, no hardship. People who newly join are not aware of how well we've maintained a fantastic forum.
But we do get it many of times so don't be so hard done by.

Looking forward to seeing your work :)

And thank you for the introduction.

Hi Brandon. Welcome to the forum. I'm on quite a few fora, and it is always a good idea to introduce yourself before attempting to sell something. Looking forward to seeing your image contributions to the site :)

hello from delaware. and welcome to the forum. my brother lives in florida and has moved around a lot, ocala, daytona, tallahassee and soon to be jacksonville, i hope. not a big fan of tallhassee, not much to do there. i love visiting blue springs state park and palm coast. can't wait to see your photos.

Hi brandon

I'd be interested in these 12ft alligator pics ! (I do nothing more exciting than snap buildings, which rarely bite)

Hi Brandon and welcome. You will by now have received my email (I was out and just spotted that you had now started a 'Hello' thread). I have re-opened the thread for you. I'm sorry that I needed to do that but it did look rather suspicious. I'm pleased to see that I was wrong.

Brandon,

The friendly environment we have created here for each other doesn't take much to maintain. I have in fact hardly even posted recently as I have been busy with a couple of other projects and life in general.
Thankfully we have some keen moderators and members that 'get' this place and what it stands for.
Had I spotted your post yesterday before it was dealt with by others, I would have banned you on the spot... Permanently!
It is quite rare that I have to be so draconian in my actions as we now refuse membership to probably as much as 75% of people who attempt to join - thankfully my background helps me identify bots and spammers quite easily.

You met all the criteria for entry, but then instantly broke two of te rules as far as I am concerned ... The first trying to sell something, the second trying to do it in a dishonest way - it takes only a basic moral compass, and zero knowledge of a forum to realise this.

You have also now broken another possibly unspoken rule by taking umbrage at the decisions made despite the members involved clearly being very polite to you.

The one thing you do have on your side is the last bit of that first post ... The update ... Where you actually say hi properly.

Not the greatest of starts ...

I do though appreciate that you don't feel you were doing anything wrong and am happy despite "the funny taste" this have left in my mouth to give you another chance!

Im going to delete you other thread ... Your welcome to recreate it in a more honest way ... Maybe post a couple of pictures of the camera?

And I would also like to see some picture of alligators ...

Hope that all sits ok with you?

Hamish

Incidentally, you might fare a lot better when trying to sell a camera like that for that sort of money by taking some better photos of it. Have a look at my Flickr, there are loads of photos that have been used on eBay recently. Natural light is key where you don't have studio conditions to work with
