I think you are on to something here, I really do. The mix of having some parts with reasonable contrast and other parts with it lost work well.

it is Peter, about 2 hours before you got there lol ... I used The Fuji XF14mm f22 at .7sec

Yea it's a superb location. I seen quite a few landscape photographers in /around that area when I stopped off etc... You could spend a month (or longer) in this area chasing the perfect photographic light couldn't you......(?)

you certainly could yeah and i've been lucky with some of the conditions i've been presented with. I'm from Dundee Peter so it takes me about 2.5 hours from my home.
