This little fella is part of a detail of a window that is over 10m above the floor level and so cannot normally be seen. There is an amazing amount of detail in these windows that would only have been visible to the artisans who made them (and the conservation team restoring the chapel).

Nikon D3x + 55mm Micro-Nikkor. ISO 200, 1/100s at f1:8.0. PP in LR / Nik ColorFX Pro 4.

Beautiful decor, captured well. I note this was taken with the D3x, I now do not wonder what camera's you have Pete, rather I wonder what camera's you dont have

Thanks Julian. It's the one of the ones I use for survey work. Robust and reliable. I find the D800 etc a bit fiddly and fragile-feeling. The stay in the lab.

Well it has been stuck up there for 140 years and for the last 4 months has had nothing to look at but scaffolding!

Never mind: 140 years so not so old. But it looks medieval!

The stained glass was installed in 1885 but the chapel itself was built between 1691 - 1694.

A very interesting image and story as well as a puzzle to everyone about the tallness of the photographer. Or he has climbedthe scaffold on feeblelegs at such an age! All for the sake of a good image!
