Thanks, Gianluca. I often find myself just ‘being there’ rather than looking directly at something. I’ve tried a few times to give a sense of that in a photograph, but am often not happy with the result. But this image with its off-focus rather than out-of-focus look gets close. I’m not really sure what I mean by ‘off-focus’, but somehow it makes sense to me.
