Hi all,
I have just come across this article, its some WW1 images taken with a Verascope, its a stereo graphic camera like my Gomz sputnik. It basically takes 2 pictures at the same time, but slightly apart eg each lens is an eye and they are eye width apart. When combined together the brain sees it as 3d.

if you click on the 'view the 3d rendering' it will show it as a gif so you get the correct 3D effect - you would usually need to wear viewer so each eye sees a slightly different image.
