depends what it is going on, some devices use EPUB format, then there are kindle and pdf etc.

I guess there are a lot of people here that could make an interesting ebook of something they are good at photographing that could easily be sold online on various websites.

Scribus is pretty good and it is free! It does have a few niggles like non serif fonts looking odd when you export to .pdf but on the whole fairly decent. Did I mention it is free? It is a contender to Quark Express and Adobe Page-Thingy and Apple's Pages. There might be a bit of a learning curve though, I found it OK but I have experience of Quark Express and Pages so most of it made sense to me. What I do like is that it can produce high res .pdf suitable for high quality printing and low res .pdf for general download and sharing.

When i done mine it was relatively straightforward, I used Pages(part of iWork) which saves the file as a PDF.... the problem was then to get it transferred into ePub and keep all the formatting the same and the only program I found was CS5 it's a good project to work on, focuses the mind on the photos

You can also use iPhoto to build books if you have a Mac

Use one of the iPhoto book templates and build the book as if you were ordering it for print from Apple.

You have a load of templates to choose from - and each page layout is customizable to some extent

Then, instead of ordering it online - you Print to PDF.


Not taken that multi-page PDF to ePub, but can't be that hard?

We just got a Mac at Christmas. I'll have to look at that. (I actually haven't used the Mac much yet.)
